So you have entered the world of web design? Welcome, it’s a great world to be in. I’m sure you are trying to gather all of the information you can in order to be a great web designer. That’s why I want to provide you with these beginner tips to designing a great website. If you want to go far in your career, take these tips to heart.
Stick to Keyword Specific Content
When adding your content to your site, it is important that you stick to the keyword. You shouldn’t build a site on best drama movies and get sidetracked by talking about apples and bananas. This doesn’t look good and will cause you to lose visitors. Also by sticking to the specific keyword targeted, you will rank better in the search engines.
Make Your Headers Pop
Your headlines need to pop in order to grab people’s attention. You should use a bold header, make the header larger, use a creative title, and if you are using boxes for your content, change the color of the header background. This will help it to pop and grab people’s attention.
Plan Out Your Space Well
It is important that you plan out your space well on your site. You want people to be able to scan over things quickly. Having everything crammed together will make it hard for your visitors to quickly scan your site and find what they are looking for. So when you plan out your design, allow space to separate everything.
Limit Your Images
It is important that you limit your images and space them out evenly. Cramming a ton of images on your website will cause your page to load slower and in turn will cause you to lose traffic. If you are adding articles to your site, you should use two to three images for the content. If you have a lot of images you want to show off, consider placing them in a photo gallery.
Keep the above in mind and you will go far in your career of web design. There are a ton of things you need to learn, but you also need to live and learn which means you need to make your own mistakes to know what works and doesn’t work for you and your site.
