as effective as regular store beauty products but without the burden of the extra cost.
Here are a few tips and recipes for creating your own beauty products in the comfort of your own home.
Mashed avocado is an excellent face mask. Avocado has moisturizing properties, apply a thin layer on your face and rinse after 15 minutes. You will notice the difference immediately.
The perfect recipe for a natural face cream is mixing 50ml carrier oil and 15g of beeswax together over a bowl of boiling water. Leave to simmer. The mixture will set and as it cools add essential oils. After, wait for it to set completely and apply.
Don’t spend money on expensive toners, make your own using either rose or lavender petals. Place the petals in boiling water, cover and leave for a few days to stand. After, pour into a bottle and refrigerate. Using cotton wool, apply to your skin.
Have a rejuvenating shower using sesame oil mixed with sea salt. Pour the mixture into a wash cloth and massage over your body.
To keep your hair looking strong and shiny mix young nettle leaves with any herb in your kitchen, add egg yolk with some brandy to the mixture. Brandy creates hair shine and the egg yolk enriches your hair with protein whilst nettles remove dandruff. Remove the larger bits of herbs with a sieve and together with olive oil, massage into your hair from the root to tip. Leave the mixture for about an hour in your hair and rinse with cold water. Rosemary essential oil is also an excellent ingredient for preventing and removing dandruff. It also enriches dark hair
Puffy red eyes are distinct especially when you suffer with hay fever or during the flu. Place cotton wool dipped in warm chamomile tea to soothe tired and puffy eyes.
Acne is common and embarrassing, we have all had a spot or blemish that we wish would disappear. It is even worse for those that have to deal with the problem as an adult. Add 5 drops of Juniper and tea tree oil to a bowl of steaming water. Together these ingredients are used for cleaning, preventing acne and opening your pores. Tea Tree has antiseptic properties which assist in easing acne.
Cure for oily skin
Mix together Juniper, lemon and mint essential oils and apply to skin.
Natural ingredients make excellent beauty products when mixed and used correctly. All that is needed is time and patience.
