May to August is what the bridal world likes to call Wedding Season. It is the the most popular time of year for people to get married, and with good reason. The sun is shining, birds are chirping, and the flowers are at full bloom. What else could anybody want? A lot. Most brides not only want but need what is in for the season. We only plan on getting married once and want the wedding day to be as perfect as possible! With that said, I have done my share of research and present to you the summer wedding trends of 2014.
Headbands: VIsit any bridal boutique or flip through a wedding magazine and you will see that headbands are very popular this season! The nice thing is that many styles of the hairpiece are in. Brides can choose from floral, jewels, or birdcages and this is just to name a few!
Pink: This color – whether pale or bright- has been around for a long time but this season is going to be the most popular for it. Expect many weddings to have a splash of this fun and elegant color.
Vests: My fiance is having his guys hop on board for this, and I think it is a wonderful idea. Summer weddings are great but can also be quite hot. Why have the groomsmen sweat in a suit? Have them ditch the jacket but keep the vest!
Sparkle: This is the season for the sparkle lover. Incorporate sparkle into your style but remember that a little goes a long way! A nice touch would be to have a hint of sparkle on your nails.
The Smoky Eye: Many brides opt for neutral makeup but this year we will see brides begin to make a bolder statement with a subtle smoky eye.
Bows: The majority of wedding shoes I have looked at have bows on them and I love that this is popular! Look for a shoe with one bow in the front.
Bow-Tie: Of course a tie would work just fine but the perfect bow-tie brings everything together.
Dramatic Back: Many dresses for the summer focus on the back of the dress. Backless and dresses with intricate lace backs are going to be seen a lot this summer.
Chignon: This hairstyle is simple and absolutely beautiful. Sometimes less is more.
Remember the most important thing about your day is you are going to be marrying your partner for life and love is a trend that will always be in style.
