If Sony thought they could get away with a stupid plan as the one they were going to try to get away with they had another thing coming. Earlier it was reported that Sony would give #PS+ subscribers the ability to upgrade Drive Club from the free demo version to a full version for $10 less than full price. There is a huge catch to it all. (1)
Sony, knowing that all purchases that are PS+ based. All all connected to your PS+ account. That means once you stop subscribing. That $50 game becomes useless and your money flushed down the proverbial drain. When gamers got a whiff of this. They took it to the internet, forum, anywhere the #gamers voice will be heard. The collective voice was heard loud and clear.
It was reported this morning by Sony they have reversed their original plans. This is what they posted on their statement.
“Now, If you intend on downloading DRIVECLUB PlayStation Plus Edition, and upgrading to the full game experience, you will have access to the full game even if your PlayStation Plus subscription runs out.”(2)
It goes to show anyone that if you have a loud enough crowd those in business like Sony will hear you. If they don’t hear you the collective voice must be louder. Also show them you mean business. The next step would be to not buy the product in question. They will sure enough change their minds such as Sony did today.
