When buying dog food, you may think that they are all the same, but the cutest bag isn’t always the best choice. I’ll teach you how to not fall victim to the marketing trap of dog food.
Always, and I repeat always, check reviews online before just aimlessly buying a bag of dog food. The review(s) will serve as a guide for you as to what owners have experienced with their pets while using the product. You’ll also pick up on what is good and bad about them. (IMPORTANT) Start with the bad reviews before reading the good!
See how your dog reacts
When buying dog food, see how your dog reacts to the dog food. Is your dog tired? Is your dog joyful and happy, or is your dog having an allergic reaction to the food? My dog had a food allergy to Kibbles in Bits. He began to develop a rash on his stomach, so in turn after intensive research we changed his dog food to Nature’s Domain. He hasn’t had any issues with the new good so we have kept him on it ever since (he’s 12 now).
Check for nutrients
Make sure your dog’s food has the proper nutrients in it so your dog can live a long, happy, and healthy life.
If you’re not sure what kind of food to buy check with a veterinarian. A vet will be more than happy to guide you on your way to buying the right dog food. You don’t want to ask sales associates at stores such as Pets Mart because they are being paid to make sales so, they’ll often lead you off to buying a more expensive brand which isn’t necessarily better.
Always ask and look online before buying to see what is best, because chances are someone has made the same mistakes that you have, you just have. Be sure to not go over your budget and make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck. You don’t want to be paying a fortune on something like dog food. I hope this guide helps the right food for your dog.
