It’s April in Texas so let’s escape,
Maybe spend the day out at the lake.
Bluebonnets bloom, all around I see
Colorful, confetti-like, blooming trees.
Or we could go to the Bayou City Cajun Fest
And eat crawdads; I hear they’re the best.
Bring a jacket ’cause you never know;
This is Texas and the wind may blow.
It’s April in Texas and the air feels charged
Like everything else here, our storms are large.
Tornadoes nearby and baseball sized hail
Now all is quiet and all is well.
Pink and violet sky out west
To the east it’s black and stormy at best.
With the evening comes a chilly breeze
And we drift off to sleep with contented ease.
