Amlactin Foot Cream is great for dry cracked skin on your feet. It does not just moisturize but seems to get to the bottom of the cause of the cracking and it does not build up as much compared to other moisturizers. I originally bought Amlactin Lotion for my skin and thought that I would try it on my feet too. I liked it but wanted something a little thicker for my feet and elbows so that is why I got the foot cream.
The bottle: The foot cream comes in a 3oz plastic tube with a flip top cap. I had to remove a foil seal before using and love the little tube because it is easy to bring with me where a giant tube might take up too much room in my suitcase when traveling. The tube is white with a grey lid and light blue writing.
The Cream: This is a very heavy cream that you have to really squeeze to get out of the container. It is not runny at all but when applied it is also not really very greasy. It goes on easily and works better than the lotion on the feet because it tends to stay rather that spreading out like the lotion. The cream absorbs relatively quickly.
Scent: There is no fragrance added to cream but it does have a bit of a scent from the ingredients. It smells slightly medicinal when you put it on but that seems to disappear after it soaks in. Since I am mainly applying this to my feet it is not a concern. I love the fact that this cream has no fragrance added as I feel that fragrance has the chance to irritate skin.
Using The Foot Cream
How to use: After removing the foil seal, replace the flip top cap and then open the cap to squeeze some on to your hand. A little big goes a long way. I usually put this on at night to allow it to really soak in and hydrate while I am sleeping. I love the feel of the cream and how easy it is to get a good coating on tough areas like my feet.
On the feet: The foot cream goes on great for dry feet and after using it for awhile I find I have less of the cracking and nasty looking build up on my heels. I usually apply it on the heavy side and then put socks on to make sure it stays where I put it rather than getting rubbed off on my sheets. I really like the cream and think it does a great job on my feet.
On the elbows: Even though this is designed for feet I also wanted to try it on my elbows. I do not notice the same results on my elbows that I do on my feet. I am not sure if it is wiping off or if it just does not work as well for my rough elbows. They do have one other product that is a body cream for tough areas and I might look into trying that. I was trying to get away with just buying the lotion and foot cream rather than having to buy three separate products.
Final thoughts and Rating
Since this is a foot cream and works great on my feet I will give Amlactin Foot Cream 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it. I love that it is a heavy cream but does not leave my feet feeling greasy. I really like all the Amlactin products that I have tried so far.
