Savannah has some of the best art galleries around; there are outside exhibits from late April until mid-June down on River Street, but if you’re more of an indoor person and don’t like the heat, we have some very beautiful indoor galleries as well.
1. The Ray Ellis Gallery– 205 West Congress St, Savannah, Georgia 912-324-3537. This is one of the most beautiful galleries in all of Georgia, from the Gardens and Still Life to the gorgeous Southeast Landscapes, this is a must see for any art enthusiast.
2. Gallery 209– 209 East River St, Savannah, Georgia 912-236-4583. This quaint little gallery is right on River Street, right in the heart of Old Savannah, if you blink you will go right by it so take your time and look for it, Look for the green and white awning and the Red sign on the door, It’s a two story gallery but you can’t tell that from the outside, once inside you will be amazed by the vast array of different items ranging from beautiful painted marsh capes, to pottery. Everything inside the gallery is done by regional artists.
3. Foxy Loxy Print Gallery and Café – 1919 Bull St, Savannah, Georgia-912-401-0543. Set in beautiful Savannah in an Old Victorian Home is best known for the café and the wine and coffee selections, they serve an array of Mexican specialties, the outside seating area is very peaceful surrounded by tree’s and off the beaten path, On Saturday evening’s it’s half off wine night, The Print Gallery is upstairs and the they have a very large selection from wonderful prints of the early years of Savannah till present day Savannah and the surrounding areas. A must visit for anyone looking for a cup of coffee and beautiful pictures to look at or purchase.
4. Muse Arts Warehouse – 703 Louisville Rd. Savannah. Georgia-912-713-1137. If you’re more into the live scene when it comes to your galleries, then this is perfect for you. From every kind of Visual Art you can imagine starting with the theatre and ending with poetry and every facet in between. There is everything for everyone at the Muse. It brings out the actor in all of us.
