A Politically Active Senior
Extra $$ – Exercise – Community Support
Let me first say that I am sixty plus years old. About two months ago a good friend of mine and I were having some lunch and while we were talking he told me about one of his ventures. He was campaigning for one of the local candidates whose platform he supported and believed in.
The candidate had been prolific in their public service within the community for nearly three decades and was running for “Office”. As we talked I mentioned that I knew the individual professionally and that I thought they would be great for the office. It was then my friend asked me if I would be willing to tell others how great I thought this person was and get paid for it. My immediate answer was “but of course” however I was not looking for a full time job. He then told me it was only for a few weeks and that I could get out of the house , meet others with a common concern and similar goals for the community and the compensation would more than pay for my next travel adventure so I thought to myself, this will allow me to
- · Support the candidate and issues that are important to me
- · Be active in the community in which I live
- · Get in shape for my next travel adventure
- · Have part time work , as needed
- · Earn some extra cash
It was great! No long term commitment, extra money and participate in the betterment of my local community. It just made me feel good all way around.
I did find however that bringing some drinking water and head cover is a good idea especially if you live in one of the warmer climates.
Having completed this campaign, my opinion is that this is a great way for anyone of nearly any age to get out and mingle with locals with a common interest, support the community and make some good extra cash for either “the bills” or perhaps maybe just your “next big adventure“
Get involved, Have Fun and Make Money! You got to love it!
