All women dream about a nice golden suntan to get noticed at the beach and wear coloured and sleek summer dress, right? Be it times of exposures, UV patches, tanning positions… Here are the best advices you can get for a perfect hale from head to toes through the summer!
Everyone dreams about perfect suntan. Golden, shiny, lasting several months… Without the skin peeling, of course. Don’t worry, you can get that hale that will get all your friends totally jealous! You just need to have the right reflexes and to follow these simple steps to become the suntan queen (or even king, why not bro’?) of the summer. Let’s improve your tan quality and durability.
1. I tan on the beach
If you still hesitate on whether to take sunbaths at the sea or at the swimming pool, stop thinking, serious things are happening at the beach. Why? First, because both water and salt together improve the sun’s reverberation on your skin, easing the way your skin gets colored. Second, because the light sea wind makes tanning more pleasant than at the swimming pool, where it’s hotter. Finally, choosing between tanning between buildings and skyscrapers or on fine warm sand, I guess you won’t think long about it !
2. The anti-sand beach mat, always in your beach pannier
When our beach towel start looking more like a sand dune than a tanning beach mat, we know what’s next: the sand starts sticking to our skin, we get up, shake the towel to get rid of the sand, and about 15 minutes later, we start it all over again… And there comes the solution: the anti-sand beach towel . Whenever you get sand on it, all you have to do is tap on it slowly and the sand goes through it, while it can never go back up thanks to a unidirectional filter. You will quickly forget the “get-up, shake, lay” dance and the sticky sand on the skin. Thus, you can get tanned in peace and without being disturbed by the sand you hate so much.
3. Moving under the sun
We’ll never say this enough: tanning comes a lot faster in the water! I know, we all love falling asleep and relaxing laid on the sand, but nothing’s worth some swimming for a uniform and clean suntan.
Plus, while exposing to the sun, we’d better expose smartly: between 10AM and noon, and only after 4PM. A cloudy sky lets through about 90% of UV, so even under the clouds, we still get tan! For farniente fans, prefer laying on the back on your towel. Finally, don’t hesitate to do some activities to get you tanned everywhere: a beach tennis game, a beach volley or even making sandcastles with the kids can contribute to a uniform tan under all angles.
4. I highlight my beautiful tan with a shiny white swimsuit
Light or flashy colors are and will always remain the BEST for tanned skin. This is why we’ll fall for a nice white swimsuit that will emphasize our tan. It’s a color that never goes out of style, very fashion, and works well either on a bikini or on a one-piece swimsuit.
5. I use a tan-through swimwear
For a perfect tan on your whole body, choose a tan-through swimsuit that will ensure you get that golden hale from head to toes thanks to a fabric that lets UV through. Add a little trick to avoid sunglasses prints on your face: mix your makeup with a coverage concealer.
6. I use the UV patch to tan without being worried about sunburns
This sun exposure indicator is THE solution to tan peacefully. Stick it to your arm and you’re done! It will measure the received UV and changes color depending on exposure thresholds you reach. Blue means everything is right, brown means you should add some sunscreen and orange means you’re done tanning for the day and should stop now. It’s about as big as a coin, waterproof and so discrete you can forget it. You can find it in a pharmacy or online.
7. I look after sunburns
In case of burns, use this grandma recipe: water & vinegar to relieve (soak compressed cotton and tap gently on the skin); tea to refresh (let it infuse then put the wet teabag on the burned areas); yoghurt to moisturize and soothe (apply generously on burned skin areas); milk, water and a pinch of salt to relieve the pain (again, on a soaked cotton compress and stamp on the skin).
8. I sublimate my suntan
Glittered eye-liner , shiny eyeshadow … Highlight your suntan with bright colors to get a glamour look. Prefer using gloss instead of lipstick and sun powder instead of foundation. Also, waterproof makeup will be your best ally against the damages caused by the heat, the sun and the waves.
