Baby powder, as we all know, is great for making Baby feel soft and smell great, but that’s not all baby powder can do. The fine, white powder (either corn starch or talc) can do a variety of things, like remove sand from skin and moldy smell from books. Baby powder also makes shaving, wearing rubber gloves, looking your best and playing cards easier and the white stuff is a great grease stain remover.
Sand Be Gone
I love the beach. The sand clinging to my family’s skin and being tracked into the vehicle and house is the part of a day at the beach I can do without. Baby powder prevents us from taking sand off the seashore and bringing it home with us; just sprinkle baby powder on feet, legs or any other skin surface where sand is clinging and it will practically fall off on its own.
When books smell musty and moldy, with pages sticking together, baby powder can save the book. Sprinkle the powder on each page and stand the book upright. The talc or cornstarch in the powder will absorb the moisture and leave behind a fresh scent.
Smooth Electric Shave
Dust your legs, face or underarms with baby powder before removing the hair with an electric razor for a smooth shave with less skin irritation.
Getting rubber gloves on and off will be easier, plus hands will stay cooler and sweat less if you’ll sprinkle baby powder on hands before donning rubber gloves.
Women with very fair complexions can use a dusting of baby powder across their face instead of more expensive facial powder. Mixing loose foundation powder with baby powder can provide the right skin tone color for medium-fair complexion with the added bonus of absorbing facial oils and preventing mid-day skin shine.
It doesn’t take many games before a deck of playing cards becomes sticky with natural oils from player’s hands. A quick dusting of the deck with baby powder absorbs oil and un-stick the cards.
Fabric Grease Stain
An oily stain on clothing or upholstery fabric can be removed with baby powder, Sprinkle the powder on the grease stain and allow to sit for 1 hour, then brush or vacuum the baby powder off and the stain will be gone.
