Receipt Hog. This app gives you points which can be redeemed for cash when you snap a photo of your grocery receipts. Receipts must be from gas stations/convenient stores and grocery stores. Sometimes there are promotions where you can also upload receipts from department stores like Sears and JC Penny. The information from that receipts is used for market research so if you are concerned about privacy you may not want to use this app.
Ibotta. This is essentially a cash back app that gives you money for purchasing participating items such as milk, eggs, and cereal. The app will make a list of your local participating stores and the qualifying items. You will need to upload a picture of your receipt and a picture of the bar code in order to get cash back.
Checkout 51. This app is similar to Ibotta however the offers are updated every week and you can purchase them at any store you would like. Again, you will have to upload a picture of your receipt. There is also no need to scan the bar code of the item purchased.
Shopmium. This app is similar to Ibotta and Checkout 51 however the payout system is a little bit different. Some offers are for free items, you will have to purchase the item first and then you will get reimbursed after uploading a picture of the receipt. Most offers will give you a certain amount of cash back for making the purchase. Another great thing about this app is that there is no minimum in order to cash out, as soon as you get cash back from an offer you can get it transferred to your PayPal account. Use referral code “GHUUAEPE” which will give you an offer for a free Lindt chocolate bar!
Checkpoints. This app is great to use while shopping, you can get points for checking in at your favorite stores, and scanning product bar codes. The points you earn can be redeemed for gift cards.
ShopKick. This app is similar to Checkpoints, you will earn “kicks” for checking in at participating stores and scanning certain products. Redeem your points for gift cards and sweepstakes entries.
