Being a Dental Assistant CDA, RDA for over 3 years, I’ve worked with many Dentist of different disciplines and learnt what Dentist welcomed when providing patient care. I found that being a great patient in a Dental environment is not only beneficial to the Dental Office but also to you as well. Here are 5 helpful tips to being a Dentist favorite patient.
It’s important to find a Dental Office that you plan on visiting for prolonged healthcare. An unstable dental history can lead to confusion and the Dentist is faced with piecing your history together like a puzzle, which can be time consuming and costly to you.
I can’t express how important asking questions help patients with understanding their treatment plans. So many patients are left with questions after receiving their initial dental plan, get confused and end up going to another Dental Office which only prevents them from getting the help they need sooner. So if you aren’t sure about your dental plan, make sure you ask the knowledgeable staff about any concerns you have. We’re here to help!
Making Dental Care routine
Scheduling a dental appointment every 6 months for check-ups, brushing your teeth with a soft bristle brush (According to the ADA Adults) 2x a day, (According to the ADA for kids 2x a day), brushing your tongue, floss everyday and rinsing with mouth wash for 1 minute a day cuts down on the risk of cavities and bad breath smells.
Appointments for children
Make sure you have something that is familiar from home such as a plush toy or a blanket that is washable. This helps soothe and calm the child which allows the dental team to work without having the parent sit in the chair with the child or use of a papoose board.
Dentist work hard to keep your smile looking great so show your smile off to the world. In doing so you look and feel great while advertising for your dental provider office. To keep your Dentist employed make sure you give your dental team referrals they deserve!
