We all played the N64. Nintendo has always been a great company, and it probably always will be. The games they come out with, and the systems are almost always a hit. I think I speak for all of us that the Nintendo 64 had some really great games that will always be remembered. So lets take a look at some of those games.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
This one is obvious. We all played Zelda, and it actually is dubbed one of the greatest games ever made. I mean it literally has that title. The RPG Ocarina of Time features young Link, a boy from a tucked away corner of the world, who rises up to challenge an evil that plagues the land. Kill the bad guy, save the princess, and learn some cool moves along the way. What’s not to like?
Mario Kart 64
Of course, another classic that everybody loved. Not only did the game become an instant hit, the game went on to greater heights when they created Mario Kart Double Dash for the GameCube, and later on Mario Kart Wii. It’s easily arguable that Mario is the greatest game character ever created. Seriously. The game features two Italian plumbers that shoot fireballs. Oh, and their archenemy is an evil dinosaur. I could have come up with that.
Super Mario Smash Bros.
I know I already covered a Mario game, but lets admit it, everyone would agree with me for adding this game to the list of greats. Another huge hit from Nintendo, it was played by all Mario fans. It featured a huge assortment of Nintendo characters, and basically consisted of beating each other up. Nothing is fun without a little violence right?
Donkey Kong 64
DK is another awesome creation that originated from an old arcade game just like Mario. When DK’s golden bananas are stolen, and his friends are taken, he goes after the guys responsible. Also introduced into the world of Donkey Kong are several new family members who will hopefully make cameos in future games.
I cannot leave out one of the best Pokemon games that came out as Pokemon became one of the biggest television shows and trading card games that ever existed. The idea for Pokemon Snap came from a single episode in the cartoon. A young photographer named Snap captures the essence of Pokemon around the world with a camera. Who knew it would turn out to be such an addicting game. You might even think, why would taking pictures on a video game be fun? I had the same thought, but I now know.
I left out a few other greats such as Kirby and Starfox, but they just weren’t worthy enough.
