New mothers experience fatigue after giving birth. This is due the overwhelming daily routine of caring for a newborn. It is also due to sleep deprivation. As a new mother, it is important to be able to cope with newborn exhaustion. Here are some helpful suggestions:
Work As A Team
The first few weeks are very exhausting. To keep it from being too overwhelming, it is best to work as a team. It is best to take turns getting up in the middle of the night. If you are breastfeeding, your partner can still help with changing diapers or with chores. If you want continued support, don’t criticize each other’s ways of doing duties. Just be appreciative and build each other up. Use those few weeks to connect and bond as a family.
Sleep When Baby Sleep
If you are a first-time parent, grab some sleep when your baby is sleeping. When you are use to the baby’s routine, put nap time into the schedule. This will help you get some rest. When you get the chance, sleep, no matter what time of day it is.
Cut back on sugar and other carbs. You will find that you are less tired. Eat plenty of fruits and veggies. Also, eat foods with lots of protein. Don’t forget to eat breakfast.
You can always go for a walk, since you can take the baby along in a stroller. Also, try doing basic squats, dumbbell chest presses, or planks. This will help your heart and build your strength. It will also give you an energy boost. You will find that you can do more with less effort. It will also lower your stress levels and improve the quality of your sleep. Incorporate an exercise routine when you can. It could be within days of delivery or four to six weeks after.
