Many times, we may think we know how to wash our hair. However, that is not always the case. Sometimes, we can be doing a lot of damage to our hair, without even knowing it.
If your hair is dull, limp, or dry, it could be due to your shampoo regimen. If you are unsure whether you are damaging your hair, check out the following:
Mistake #1- You Are Creating Friction
You should never rub your strands between your hands, as you wash. This can definitely damage your strands. Always use your fingertips to massage the scalp. Never use your fingernails or palms.
Mistake #2- You Are Conditioning Incorrectly
Only apply conditioner on the hair. Use your fingers to work the conditioner through your hair. Never use a comb. The comb will cause hair breakage. For shiny hair, rinse with cool water.
Mistake #3- You Hair Is Not We Enough
Completely saturate your hair with water, before shampooing. For best results, saturate it for a good 3 to 4 minutes. If your hair doesn’t have enough water, the shampoo will not lather well. It will also cause you to use more product. Too much shampoo, will strip your hair.
Mistake #4- You’re Using The Wrong Sulfates
It is best to use the naturally derived, coconut-oil-based sulfates or laureth sulfates. These sulfates lather very well. Lathering sucks the dirt and cellular debris away from the head.
