One morning this past winter I was getting dressed, and I noticed there was a little more dough in my bread basket, if you know what I mean. Enjoying too much pasta, potatoes and bread (emphasis on bread) had added to my middle. So I decided I needed to cut back. But, like any other person who likes to eat, I didn’t want to feel deprived. Read this informative article and find out 3 easy ways to eat less bread in your sandwiches and not even miss it!
1. Two Meats in One Bun
Sometimes one hot dog in a bun doesn’t fill you up, so you need to eat two. I cut back by placing two hot dogs in one bun. I do the same thing when I eat hamburgers, chicken fillet, ham, and other sandwiches at home.
2. Open-Faced Sandwiches Rock
At home and when I eat out, I make or order open-face sandwiches so I eat less bread. They are typically piled so high with “the good stuff” that you don’t even miss the second slice of bread.
Also, when you enjoy your favorite fast-food sandwich, simply toss the top bun. Or, you can eat around it like I do, eat the rest of the sandwich, and toss it when you’re finished.
3. Order Your Favorite Sandwiches Sans Buns
When my sister-in-law is watching her weight, she still eats her favorite fast-food sandwiches. She’s especially partial to Burger King Whoppers and Wendy’s Single burgers. She cuts back on her bread and calorie intake by ordering them without the buns. She happily eats them with a fork. I do the same thing to help thin my middle.
That I’ve been doing these three easy things to eat less bread in my sandwiches, they have become habits. Healthy habits, I might add, that I’m going to keep doing. I’m going to continue to look for other ways I can cut back.
