Now when we’re breaking down the best places in New York to offer seafood, there are a few places you just have to name; places that if not mentioned, fierce and swift punishment would follow. It is for that exact reason I will not include those places. All I ask is that my face be left reasonably untouched. Without further adieu, here we go!
3) Eveready Diner – The one I’ve been to was in Brewster, and I’ve gone back a few times. I have to say that they do offer quite a variety of tasty seafood. Personally, I go for either the stuffed shrimp, on a bed of vegetables, with a side of roasted potatoes. If that’s not enough to make you salivate, grab your napkin, because there’s more! They also serve a seafood combination, which I personally love, with the ever loved stuffed shrimp, scallops, stuffed sole and Atlantic salmon to boot; all served with vegetables and rice pilaf. All in all, a pretty safe bet if you’re looking for seafood, and the menu prices can’t lead you wrong.
2) Upstate – A nice and simple place to eat. This offers fresh seafood daily, by their words, and does a pretty good job. Usually there’s pretty good variety in their menu options that you just can’t go wrong with. I’m a huge fan of crab cakes and usually restaurants just can’t get it down like momma makes it, but this place hits the nail on the head. I’m also a sucker for steamed clams and scallops, but that’s just me.
1) Red Lobster – Ah, such a classic. I know this isn’t just in NY, but it must be #1, it just must! I’ve been going to this place since my earliest days of remembrance. I couldn’t pick a better restaurant in the good ol’ US of A to go to, one that encompasses my every desire, caters to my every single need, loves me unconditionally. Okay, the last one was a bit extreme, but so is my love for Red Lobster! (This ends my rant) But, the good old Red Lobster offers a lot of traditional seafood, one of my absolute favorite types of foods, and even unconditional (lobster pizza? eh) for all who love the ocean critters. My choice at the best is this, and it’s an absolute beauty at that.
If you really enjoy seafood, this list will help you enjoy it even more. Unless, of course you’re a New Yorker and you’ve heard and been every single one of these places, in which case please abort now; you will not be judged, I promise you. However, if you’re new to these places or even new to seafood in general, which I think should be a law punishable by imprisonment, then look no further, this list is specifically for you!
