Lost and 24 have taken TV viewers by storm. Both programs were wildly successful and still talked about today. And, since 24 is returning to the screen very soon, I think it’s fitting to revisit some things about the show. I came to love 24 just recently; so, I was a Lost fan first–but 24 is awesome and when I saw a bunch of actors I recognized from Lost, I got even more excited. In watching only the first five seasons, a handful of actors show up that were also on Lost. This article shares a handful of those actors.
1) Daniel Dae Kim
Known on Lost as “Jin,” this actor has made a very big name for himself. Not only did he play a major role on Lost, but he also showed up in a minor role in a number of 24 episodes. Furthermore, he has a major role on Hawaii Five-O. Do you remember him from 24? If you don’t, don’t worry–his role isn’t too important. Daniel Dae Kim showed up in about 11 episodes of 24, playing CTU Agent Tom Baker in seasons 2 and 3. The majority of these episodes came out before Lost–so maybe that’s a reason for not remembering him on the show. (source: IMDB)
2) Reiko Aylesworth
Aylesworth had a much bigger role on 24 than in Lost, but she’s still a a noticeable character when she first appears for 3 episodes later in the series of Lost. Don’t remember her? She plays Amy Goodspeed. Goodspeed was a member of the Dharma Initiative in the 1970’s, while Sawyer and the gang were time traveling. If you still don’t remember her, try to remember the character named Ethan (who you probably do remember). Although Ethan is in the beginning of the series (before time traveling occurs), he was born on the show when everyone is back in the 70’s. In fact, Juliet helps Amy Goodspeed deliver her baby (Ethan)- Kind of creepy, really, when you consider that Juliet knew Ethan when he was an adult! Anyway, Reiko Aylesworth is best known for her character of Michelle Dessler, who is a major character for the first 4-5 seasons of the show. Her other appearances include: Hawaii Five-O (7 episodes), Revolution (1 episode to date), Person of Interest (1 episode), Elementary (1 episode), and even Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (3 episodes). 3) Henry Ian Cusick
Also known as Desmond Hume on Lost, Henry Ian Cusick became a fan favorite as the “man in the hatch.” Although he shows up somewhat early in the Lost series, he also disappears for awhile until he makes his way back and becomes a crucial character in the show. People loved to quote him, though with a bad accent: “See you in another life, Brother.” On 24, however, Henry Ian Cusick did not have a major role–but he did have interaction with Jack Bauer in season five for 2 episodes. He played a German Spy who was undercover for 6 months, trying to gather intelligence on a female independent contractor, who just so happened to be the one selling building schematics to the main terrorist for that season. Jack Bauer has to use him in order to get to her, but deceives him in the process. Interestingly, he has also showed up on Hawaii-Five O as a terrorist.
4) Alan Dale
Alan Dale has appeared in a variety of notable shows, most recently Captain America: The Winter Soldier (for an uncredited role). He’s been in a dozen NCIS shows, appeared in about 8 Once Upon a Time shows, and even appeared in episode of Law and Order: SVU. However, he was in a lot of episodes on Lost as the notorious Charles Widmore. On 24 he played the role of Vice President Prescott in seasons 2 and 3.
Believe it or not, there are a handful of more actors that appear on both shows; however, these are what I have seen to be the bigger actors who play more notable roles. Although some of them are major characters in one show, but not the other, they are recognizable enough in the show to point out and get excited over. So, if you decide to re-watch both series at some point, try to find all the actors who are in both (if you can!)
